Ypsilanti Community Schools continues transforming education and fostering innovation by offering specialized learning experiences centered around S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) education and the globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB)* curriculum at its four Magnet Schools.

Ford STEAM Early Learning Center: Catering to the youngest learners, Ford ELC offers a nurturing environment where children can explore the foundations of STEAM education through hands-on learning experiences, setting the stage for future academic success.

Holmes STEAM Elementary School: Building upon the success of Ford Early Learning Center, Holmes Elementary continues the STEAM-focused journey, providing elementary students with engaging and interactive learning opportunities that ignite curiosity and foster a love for exploration and discovery.

Ypsilanti Community Middle School: Serving as a bridge between elementary and high school, YCMS offers a comprehensive STEAM and IB program* tailored to the unique needs of adolescent learners, preparing them for the challenges of secondary education and beyond.

Ypsilanti Community High School: As the pinnacle of the YCS Magnet School system, YCHS offers the rigorous IB curriculum* as well as its current college preparatory, Career Technical Education (CTE) and STEMM Middle College course offerings, empowering students as they prepare for college and career pathways.


*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). YCMS & YCHS are candidate schools for the MYP, DP, & CP Programmes. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
