The YIES 2026-2027 application is now open! If you are interested in your student attending in the fall, please take a few minutes to complete the form found here.
Please note, this application is to have your student entered in our lottery and does not guarantee enrollment. Families who are selected for placement will be notified of next steps via email.

Ypsilanti International Elementary School (YIES) is a K-5 International Baccalaureate (IB) school that emphasizes inquiry-based learning in a hands-on environment. YIES offers an integrated curriculum, motivating students to reach their highest potential and become productive global citizens. Enrollment requires an application and may involve a lottery.

In 2020, Ypsilanti International Elementary School officially earned its designation as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme school. Only schoolsauthorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).
