Hear brilliant stories from young writers, see the art that inspired their writing, and celebrate creative exploration.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 8, 5:30–7:30 p.m.

WHERE: UMMA (UM Museum of Art) 525 South State St. Ann Arbor

WHAT: Performances from YCS third-grade writers! Art activities for all ages! Pizza dinner provided.

FREE TRANSPORTATION:

Take a free shuttle bus directly to the art museum (picks up at YIES and Erickson at 4:35pm, Estabrook and Holmes at 5:00 p.m.). Bus departs museum at 7:30 p.m. to return to schools.
Drive yourself and park for free near the art museum at the Thompson St. Parking Garage (500 Thompson St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104). Approximately 3 minute walk to the art museum.

2024 YCS Black History Month Speaker Series: Just A Kid From Ypsi

Ypsilanti Community Schools is excited to celebrate Black History Month with the annual YCS Black History Month Speaker Series, which includes a scholarship fair and the Just A Kid From Ypsi platform!
This year's event will be hosted at Ypsilanti Community High School (2095 Packard Road) Auditorium.

Tuesday, February 13, 2024:

4th Annual Just A Kid From Ypsi highlighting
alums and people from 48197/48198
Learn more about the successes of graduates from Ypsilanti Public Schools, Willow Run Community Schools, and Ypsilanti Community Schools, plus other local schools.
New to the platform: Ypsilanti Business Spotlight
Open to community leaders and students at Ypsilanti Community High School and ACCE.
It will also be live-streamed via Facebook.
