Enrollment Process

2025–2026 School Year

We are now accepting enrollment registrations for the 2025–2026 school year.

STEP 1: Verify District Residency

Not in the district?
YCMS participates in School of Choice for eligible students.

School of Choice – Winter Term

Students who live outside the Ypsilanti Community Schools district, but within Washtenaw County or a contiguous county, may apply.

  • Application Window: October 2, 2025 – February 10, 2026
  • School of Choice (SOC) Application: 2025–2026 School Year


Important- School of Choice Applicants

SOC applications must be approved before moving forward with the enrollment process.

Once you receive notification of approval, please continue to STEP 2: Online Registration

STEP 3: Schedule an Enrollment Appointment

Contact YCMS to schedule an enrollment appointment:

During your appointment, please bring the required documents detailed in your enrollment application.

STEP 4: Finalize Enrollment

Enrollment is finalized once all required documents have been submitted and verified.

  • You will be provided with a student start date once enrollment is complete.
  • If your student will use YCS bus transportation, please allow up to 5 school days for routing to be arranged
