Greetings Holmes Families! This is Mr. Anglin with your weekly update for Tuesday, September 22nd.
As we enter into the 3rd week of school I would like to thank you for your flexibility as we adjust to instruction in-person and virtually. Although the format may be different this year, the learning taking place right now in-person and virtually carries the same expectations for engagement and attendance for students. We appreciate your support as always with making sure your child attends everyday and is ready to learn. Thank you!

All YCS students 2nd-5th grade are assigned a Chromebook/laptop. If you would like a Chromebook or laptop please contact the Technology Department to schedule a time to pick up your device by emailing email@example.com or calling 734-221-1088. The technology department can also assist with any device, software, or application issues/needs you may have.
If you are unable to make arrangements to pick up your device, you can contact your child’s teacher or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office at 734-221-2100.
YCS will continue their partnership with Comcast. If you need Internet Access please review the link below.
YCS will continue meal service at 5 locations this school year.
Meal Service Days are Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am - 2 pm. (Monday and Wednesday 9 am - 5 pm at YCHS)

Welcome Back Holmes Families!
I am excited to return as Principal of Holmes Elementary for the 2020-21 school year! I am looking forward to continuing our partnership as we work together to support the achievement of our students at Holmes. The Holmes Elementary staff has been preparing to make this an engaging year for your child. My goal is to offer students stability during the uncertainty of the pandemic. To support this goal, our teachers have been planning to offer a rigorous in-person and virtual instructional experience, while providing a safe and supportive environment for your child to thrive. We are all looking forward to the start of a great year.
For those who I have not had an opportunity to meet yet, I am a Ypsilanti native, and I am extremely proud to be from this community. As I begin my 16th year in education, I am looking forward to continuing to serve this community and lead our students to success. I am the parent of a 3rd and 5th grade student, and I recognize how the beginning of a school year brings the excitement of new hopes and experiences for our students. I am always reminded at this time of the year how important it is to provide all students with an opportunity to be successful so they can accomplish their goals and aspirations.
As members of the school community, the Holmes staff hopes that you feel valued and welcomed. We are hopeful that you will be able to take advantage of the opportunities to participate in the educational process with your child this school year. I am confident through your partnership we will make the 2020-21 school year a success!

Greetings Holmes Families! I hope everyone has been doing well. I wanted to share the YCS technology device pick-up information. This information was also sent via email by the district last week.
For students new to YCS AND for students that did not get a device in the Spring of 2020, the Technology Department will be doing device distribution at the YCS Administration building (1885 Packard Rd.) on the dates and times below.
- Tuesday, August 18th, from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Walk ups from 12:00 - 2:00 pm
- Wednesday, August 19th, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. No walk ups please.
- Thursday, August 20th, from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Walk ups from 12:00 - 2:00 pm
There is paperwork that must be filled out before a device can be received. Links to the paperwork along with additional information are in the attached link. If you are unable to fill out the forms electronically, paper copies will be available at distribution.
