IB Diploma Programme (DP)

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is designed for students in the final two years of secondary school who seek a rigorous and well-rounded academic education. It provides a strong foundation for further study and prepares students for success in university and beyond. The DP enables students to:

  • follow a broad and balanced course of study
  • develop critical thinking and research skills
  • engage in learning connected to real-world contexts
  • communicate effectively in a variety of situations
  • work independently and collaboratively
  • consider multiple perspectives
  • develop self-confidence, resilience, and strong self-management skills
  • be internationally-minded and globally aware
  • apply their knowledge to complex and unfamiliar situations.

Ypsilanti ACTech High School is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.  *Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). ACTech is a candidate school for the MYP and DP Programmes. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. How do I enroll in the IB DP?

Students in 10th grade will begin by speaking with their counselor, who will then direct them to the IB Coordinator (Mrs. Berryman) for further information. 

This program is open and available for all YCHS (ACTech) students!
