3P Champions Collaborative Learning Initiative
As part of a new initiative between Ypsilanti Community Schools (YCS) and Lincoln Consolidated Schools (LCS), students in pre-K–12 classrooms have been delving into hands-on, project-based learning while their teachers see increased support and leadership.
The 3P Champions Collaborative Learning Initiative, which is funded by a Toyota Driving Possibilities grant, aims to develop a curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and experiential learning–and to pair teachers with “champions” experienced in the new approach.
Michigan Safe Storage Notice
Ypsilanti Community Schools is sharing important information with families regarding Michigan’s firearm safe storage requirements.
Michigan law requires firearms to be securely stored when minors under age 18 are present or are likely to be present. Safe storage helps protect children and youth and prevent unintentional firearm-related injuries.
Families are encouraged to review the Safe Storage Notice flyer for information about storage requirements, locking devices, frequently asked questions, and resources for obtaining free or low-cost firearm locks and storage.
The MDHHS informational notices are available at the following links:
• What is the Secure Storage Law in Michigan?
The MDHHS webpage hosting the multiple language versions of the notices is located at:
Please review the Safe Storage Notice flyer by clicking on Read More for additional information and resources.
