Have you completed your Education Benefits Form (EBF)?
Under the Michigan School Meals Program, students in the Ypsilanti Community Schools receive FREE breakfast and lunch each school day.
Even though all students receive free meals, families will still maintain a benefit status of Free, Reduced, or Paid under the approved program. This status is critical, as it is used to determine eligibility for grants and other important state funding.
Why We Need the Education Benefit Form (EBF)
We ask every family, regardless of financial status, to complete the Education Benefit Form (EBF). Completing this form helps YCS maintain essential funding levels.
Without completed forms from all families, our district is at risk of losing important state funding that supports programs and services our students are entitled to receive.
These supplemental grants help fund:
- Instructional staff (e.g., Reading Interventionists, Math support, Academic and Behavior Aides)
- Counselors, Social Workers, and School Nurses
- Professional learning for staff
- Technology and classroom resources
The more forms returned, the greater the benefit to our students and schools.
What Do I Need to Do?
Please complete the Education Benefit Form (EBF) and return it:
- Online through the Meal Magic site YCS MEAL MAGIC FAMILY PORTAL
- By submitting a hard copy to your child’s school
Please include all students in your household on one form, even if they attend different YCS schools.
Your support in completing this form helps ensure that YCS can continue providing the programs and services that make a difference for our students. Thank you for your partnership!
