Ypsilanti high school earns rare 2nd authorization for prestigious academic program
When students return to the classroom on Monday, one Washtenaw County high school will stand out as one of only two schools in Michigan to offer two prestigious, formally authorized academic programs.

2026–2027 Personal Electronic Device Expectations: Protecting Learning, Connection, and Scholar Success
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are sharing an important districtwide update regarding scholar use of cell phones and other personal wireless communication devices.
Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Michigan Public Act 2 of 2026 requires Michigan school districts and public school academies to adopt a policy prohibiting student use of wireless communication devices on school grounds during instructional time.
