GLC Dates

The camp runs Monday through Thursday, beginning on June 15 and ending on July 23.

Please note: There will be no camp on Thursday, June 18 in observance of Juneteenth, or Thursday, July 2 for the July 4th weekend.

Grizzly Learning Camp Registration

Dear Parents and Families,

Looking for a fun and engaging way for your student to continue learning this summer? Ypsilanti Community Schools (YCS) is excited to offer the Grizzly Learning Camp again this summer! This unique program provides students of all grade levels with an exceptional face-to-face summer experience.

Students will learn in small groups led by YCS teachers, participating in hands-on activities Monday through Thursday mornings. We've partnered with community organizations to offer a diverse and enriching educational experience.

Grizzly Learning Camp offers a wide range of exciting themes, including (but not limited to):

• Superheroes
• Insects
• Music
• Art
• Dance
• Science
• Coding
• Culinary Arts
• Auto Mechanics
• Body Shop Repair
• Credit Recovery

Students will also have the opportunity to explore museums, studios, gardens, parks, and other local businesses. This face-to-face instruction will not only be educational but also a great way for students to reconnect with friends.

Grizzly Learning Camp Registration 2026

Register your student for the 2026 Grizzly Learning Camp! Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Please ensure all information is complete and accurate and update it as needed to maintain your student's safety.

Due to space and staffing limitations, some programs may have limited capacity. If a program is full, your student will be placed on a waitlist and you will be notified if a spot becomes available.

What are the times/hours for GLC?

Answer:

PreK-1st grade (located at Ford STEAM ELC) Time: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm 

2nd grade-4th grade (located at Erickson Elementary)  Time: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

5th grade-8th grade (located at YCMS) Time: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm 

9th grade-12th grade (located at YCMS) Time: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

ACCE / 9th grade-12th grade (located at Puentes) 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Multilingual Learners K-5th grade (located at Puentes) 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Extended School Year (ESY) students (located at Puentes) Times Vary will be contacted by their teacher.

Question: Why should my student attend Grizzly Learning Camp?
GLC is designed for ALL students. It will continue learning for students who need it and stretch students that want a challenge. Students will be in person, given that it is safe to do so. Lessons will be hands-on and very engaging so they can have fun while learning at the same time.
